Mentorship

I had the absolute honor of participating as a mentor for several programs during my time at Rutgers and UC Santa Barbara. Some opportunities I have been a part of include being a supermentor for the MARC, EUREKA, Gorman and SACNAS programs (Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships), as well as a mentor for the Graduate Scholars, the Women in STEM and the Black Student Engagement Programs.

Advocacy

I firmly believe that STEM and the environmental future should be inclusive. As a result, I have co-organized and developed numerous workshops, panels and spaces geared towards advocating for STEM inclusion and mentoring. I have also organized around the inclusion of environmental justice in curricula and solution-making in my department, co-organized and participated in Black in Environment Week (2021-Present) and Black in Geosciences Week (2020), and served on the leadership boards of several student organizations at Rutgers and UCSB.
I am always open to collaborating and developing spaces that are focused on inclusion, justice and equity in STEM. Do not hesitate to reach out regarding potential collaborations.

Outreach

I really enjoy making science digestible to the public, a skill that I am actively honing in on. I had the absolute honor to share my science in public fora such as Science Friday, Black in Marine Science, Black in Environment, European Geophysical Union's GeoLog, Night Dive at the Aquarium of the Pacific. I am always looking to help create accessible content in efforts to foster effective conversations around addressing environmental problems for different audiences. Kindly reach out if you seek to collaborate on something similar.
